Has there been a time when you could not take a shower immediately after swimming in chlorine? Having to leave a pool to run errands with your kids, or maybe it was a long drive home? Not being able to get to a shower immediately after is why this mama created this rad after-detox swim spray that I always have with me. The chemicals in the chlorine pools are very harsh and strong, which could cause future health issues.

I have been in situations where I have not been able to rinse my body off, but using this spray to counteract the chemicals has reassured me that the chemicals are not continually harming my skin until I can get to a shower to wash off.

Ingredients in the spray:

  • Vitamin C: to neutralize the chemical impact of chlorine (the body can absorb sodium ascorbate and it doesn’t lower your body’s PH)

  • doTERRA Lavender Essential Oil: soothes the skin and supports healthy pathways in the sinuses and ears which can be aggravated after swimming

  • doTERRA Geranium Essential Oil: supports respiratory system and calms the nervous system. When we are exposed to chemicals, our nervous system can be ramped up and looking for a fight.

  • Filtered water

HOW TO USE DETOX

SWIM SPRAY

Why Andrea Rothmuller created the detox swim spray

I am passionate about finding ways to reduce the toxic load in our bodies to support our own (and our children’s) immune systems and implementing new practices into our wellness routine.

Swimming in the pool is such a fun family activity but when you swim in chlorinated water, the chemicals are absorbed into your skin and overexposure can happen quicker than you think.  Because chlorine exposure can affect our bodies and hormones and put us and our children at increased risk for health issues it’s important to support our bodies and detox / neutralize the chlorine after swimming in the pool.

I started using the spray when I was pregnant and even used on my son after his first time swimming in a salt water pool at 3 months old.  Saltwater pools still do contain chlorine, just lower levels.

The spray is very soothing, smells lovely and mists on so nicely. I love how powerful essential oils are and there is literally an oil for everything so the ingredients in here make sense combined with the Vitamin C. It gives me peace of mind to know I’m being proactive. We can’t control everything in our environment but we can take small steps to do better and treat our bodies better. This is one small and easy step for my family!
